Former accredited photojournalist in Singapore with a decade of newsroom experience in progress of refining his practice and way-of-seeing by documenting the presence of structural interventions in nature.
With formal studies in interior architecture and an ongoing interest in the reading of architecture design and aesthetic theory, Don continued his creative upbringing after graduation, in an advertising agency crafting copy for property and luxury retail whilst exploring photography as an extension of his fascination for drawing.
Following a positive portfolio review at a national newspaper, he was hired as a photojournalist, covering local and regional stories where he developed a fondness for the challenges in story telling with pictures and a simple, well-written caption.
These days, he spends time, surveying and photographing changes in his native Singapore with an unsentimental eye, paying closer attention instead, to form, detail and presence.
Don is self-represented in Singapore and accepts photography commissions for documentary, portraiture & the built environment.
